October 1, 2006 Newsletter

It is exciting to share with you the activity of our first month in ministry.

Prisons- The response to our appearances has been overwhelming and encouraging. With the help of the Chaplain at the North Central Unit, Calico Rock, we have sent an introductory letter to all senior Chaplains in the Arkansas Prison System- there are 18!  The letter included a positive reference/recommendation and offers our worship services at no cost.  We included a DVD with 2 songs. With more than 2 million inmates in our prisons we know that there is as much need here as in many foreign countries and we pray that our ministry will reach both the saved and the unsaved in jails and prisons throughout our state and country.

North Central Christian School- Kathleen will begin teaching sign language for worship to all the students in preparation for the children’s performance on Veteran’s Day.  This will be followed by another performance scheduled for Christmas.  All of the students will be involved and the school is excited about this ministry.  We look forward to this being a springboard into other schools.

Results of 1st Mailing- The spiritual support that we have received as a result of our 1st mailing has been wonderful. We know that we are being prayed for because doors are opening and things are happening.  This initial mailing also resulted in some much needed financial support.

DVDs and Website- A DVD burner was purchased and this allows us to produce DVDs that we are giving away and including in some of our mailings. Although this is an expensive method of promoting the ministry it does a much better job of ‘explaining’ what we do than just trying to use words. Our website, www.silentgrace.com, has 3 video performances but many people do not have access to the high speed Internet service that is required to view them.  If you would like a DVD or tri-fold brochures for yourself, or to share with others, all you need do is let us know.

Church Mailing- We mailed our tri-fold brochure to 126 local churches. Our letter of introduction offered our worship services, explained the direction of our ministry, and also mentioned our desire to establish workshops.

Call for Help!- We welcome your ideas about how we can better improve our communication and our ministry.
