January 2007

December 28th Prison Special- More than 150 inmates attended the Christmas Special at Calico Rock. Jerry Strobel, Chaplain, Good Samaritan Village, sang, played accordion and dazzled everyone with his illusions.  Jerry’s music and testimony blended together to bring a strong message of the saving Grace of Jesus Christ.

Kathleen signed 5 songs and finished with the inmates singing along with her to Amazing Grace. Being in the middle of 150 men singing Amazing Grace is an experience that we will all cherish for a long time!

Alton Harrison organized the special event, gave the message and led the prayers. Our group included Jeannie Harrison, George Bearden of Emmanuel Church and Jeannie’s brother, Paul, and his daughter, Karen. It was wonderful to see the Spirit of God working in the lives of these men who are physically isolated from their families and society but not from the love of our LORD.  Kathleen and I were asked by several men to pray for them and we ask that you all keep them in your prayers as well.
